Jazmine Sullivan

JazmineJazmine Sullivan was born in and was raised at home in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Pam her mother is an ex-backup singer at Philadelphia International Records. When she was five years old, her father landed a position as a curator for City's Historic Strawberry Mansion in the Strawberry Mansion section, and her family moved into the historic landmark. In 2005, she graduated from the Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts with an alumnus in vocal music. Sullivan began singing in contralto with the youth choir and after a couple of years, she joined the adult group. He was exposed to secular music but was initially limited "I had solos singing in churches and a person wanted me to sign to an evangelical label when I was eleven but I wasn't yet ready," she recalls. In the following year, McDonald's held a contest with children from large cities. I was able to perform "Accept The Grace God Gives" in The show Showtime at the Apollo. And the people were very enthusiastic. She performed with Stevie Wonder at his grandson's birthday party at 13. Sullivan made her first signing to Jive Records when she was fifteen. The label recorded her the entire album but the album wasn't released. Sullivan was then dropped out of the company. Her work had been in good connection to Missy Elliott. Elliott produced many of her tracks which included "Backstabbers" and "Backstabbers," which was produced by Timbaland.
